2012 SALUTE THE STARS REACHES NEW HEIGHTS

The 2012 Salute the Stars awards luncheon reached a new financial height, raising more than $470,000 throughout the course of the two-day festivities. More than 75 Denver area student-athletes were honored for their efforts in academics, athletics and community service and more than $60,000 was presented in scholarships and awards.

The Salute the Stars VIP Kick Off Party was held on Wednesday, May 8th at the Lynches home and featured a live and silent auction, hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, entertainment by Phil Long, and celebrity guests including Peyton Manning, Von Miller, John Fox, and Jon Gruden. The live auction raised more than $230,000.

On Thursday, May 10th the Salute the Stars awards luncheon was held at Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium - on the field - in front of 1,000 guests. The student-athletes honored at the luncheon were announced and featured on the jumbotron and then awards and scholarships were presented. The event concluded with an inspirational keynote speech from ESPN Monday Night Football analyst, and John's former Super Bowl Champion Head Coach, Jon Gruden.

Salute the Stars

The 15th Annual Salute the Stars awards luncheon will be held on Friday, May 10th at Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium. General Tommy Franks (Ret.), Former Commander-in-Chief, US Central Command, will be the Keynote Speaker. Please join John and Linda Lynch in recognizing and rewarding many shining examples of young leaders in our community.

The Salute the Stars luncheon, which is held in front of 1,000 guests, is designed to honor student-athletes, including some with special needs, from the Denver and greater Colorado areas. It is the Lynch's intention to recognize what is 'right' with our youth today. The student-athletes who are honored, each excel in academics, athletics and community involvement.

The event will feature a VIP Kick Off Party on Thursday, May 9th for high level sponsors, which includes cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, entertainment and a live and silent auction. Guests who attend the luncheon on May 10th will also have the opportunity to Punt, Pass and Kick on the field after the event.

To date the John Lynch Foundation has awarded $535,000 in scholarships to 103 student-athletes, including those with special needs. We count on support from local corporate and individual sponsors to assist us in making this day special for many deserving youth.
