We inspire young people to become leaders through scholarship, sport participation and community involvement. It is our belief that through these efforts, lifelong lessons including teamwork, responsibility, accountability, and the will to succeed, mold these youth into our future leaders.
John and his wife Linda created the John Lynch Foundation in Tampa, FL in 2000 and since then have made an impact on their local communities in the following ways…
$1.98 million has been awarded to high school senior student-athletes through the Lynch Family Legacy Scholarships.
In total, 239 student-athletes have received scholarships - 40 of which were awarded to student-athletes with physical and cognitive disabilities.
More than 1,000 middle school and high school student-athletes were recognized as Star of the Month or Rising Star of the Month winners.
Approximately 3,000 Boys & Girls Clubs youth have participated in programs and opportunities provided by the JLF in Tampa, Denver and Northern California through Lynch’s Safety Zone, Lynch’s Leaders, and the JLF Christmas Party, . Countless others have benefited from funding provided by the JLF to the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito.
60 military families have participated in support programs and events hosted by the JLF including game day events, training camp visits, and the JLF Christmas Party.
More than $7.5 million has been raised to benefit the JLF youth programs and scholarships.
Pro Football Hall of Famer and former NFL strong safety, John Lynch played fifteen seasons in the NFL and earned a Super Bowl ring with the Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII. He went on to play for the Denver Broncos for four seasons before retiring as a free agent during the 2008 season. Throughout his career, he was selected to nine Pro Bowls, was the recipient of the. Bart Starr Award and the Byron Whizzer White award, and was a finalist for the NLF Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. .John was a commentator for NFL on Fox from 2008-2016. In 2017, John was hired as the General Manager of the San Francisco 49ers and was named 2019 Executive of the Year by the Pro Football Writers Association. He has led the 49ers to two Super Bowl appearances and is currently the General Manager and President of Football Operations.
